DOTTORATO IN SCIENZE DELLA VITA E DELL’AMBIENTE

ATTIVITÀ DEI DOTTORANDI – RIPARTIZIONE DEI CFU

Analogamente ai corsi di Laurea Triennale e Magistrale, l’attività di un dottorando si basa sui crediti formativi (CFU). Il CFU rappresenta una misura del carico di lavoro del dottorando. Per conseguire il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca è richiesto un totale di 180 CFU. I 180 CFU sono distribuiti equamente nei tre anni del programma (60 CFU/anno) e ripartiti tra diverse tipologie di attività.

Le varie attività sono raggruppate in tre categorie generali:

• Carico di lavoro per la tesi – 120 CFU
• Frequenza di corsi e partecipazione a workshop e tirocini organizzati dall’Ateneo o dal DISVA – 17 CFU
• Altre attività – 43 CFU (scrittura di pubblicazioni scientifiche o divulgative; periodi  in  Italia o all’estero in università, imprese, enti terzi; svolgimento di attività di supporto alla didattica, come esercitazioni, tutorato di tirocini e tesi, seminari; partecipazione a congressi, convegni, workshop; partecipazione a campagne di campionamento o  esperimenti presso LSF; attività di brevettazione e protezione della proprietà intellettuale; attività di revisione/valutazione tra pari per riviste;  attività di  tipo editoriale per riviste, conferenze…; attività di carattere organizzativo, come acquisti, manutenzioni, gestione di laboratori...; partecipazione in organi accademici, come Collegio Docenti Dottorato, Consiglio Scuola Dottorato..; altro) 

MODALITÀ EROGAZIONE DIDATTICA AL DOTTORATO PER 17 CFU 

·       7 CFU (crediti trasversali) da conseguire obbligatoriamente con:

               - Lezioni organizzate dall'Ateneo per 5 CFU. Trovate le informazioni al seguente link: https://www.univpm.it/Entra/Ricerca/Dottorato_di_Ricerca_/Didattica_comune

               - Lezioni di Informatica organizzate dal DiSVA, per 2 CFU. Vengono proposti moduli da 8 ore (1 CFU) e lo studente dovrà scegliere i 2 moduli che lo interessano. Tutte le informazioni al link riportato qua sotto Lezioni di Informatica.

·       10 CFU (crediti disciplinari) da conseguire scegliendo liberamente fra le varie opzioni offerte:

               - Lezioni frontali organizzate dai docenti DISVA: 8 ore - 1 CFU. Sono lezioni frontali su materie specialistiche offerte dal singolo docente. Lo studente sceglie le lezioni che lo interessano. Tutte le informazioni al link riportato qua sotto “Lezioni Frontali”

               - Laboratori teorico-pratici sulla strumentazione avanzata acquisita come Dipartimento di Eccellenza o messa a disposizione da gruppi di ricerca: 24 ore - 3 CFU (max 4 studenti per corso). A scelta dello studente. Sono lezioni sia teoriche che pratiche tenute da uno o più docenti e da post-doc. Ogni dottorando acquisisce 3 CFU. I laboratori teorico-pratici durano tipicamente una settimana. Si prevedono laboratori sulla strumentazione acquisita come Dipartimenti di Eccellenza ma sono possibili altri corsi su altra strumentazione se messa a disposizione da gruppi di ricerca DISVA.                - Esercitazioni individuali da svolgersi presso i gruppi di ricerca del DiSVA (o di altro Dipartimento UNIVPM, previa segnalazione e adesione al programma formativo) per acquisire competenze interdisciplinari su metodologie sperimentali o ambiti scientifici non presenti nel gruppo di appartenenza del dottorando: 48 ore - 6 CFU. A scelta dello studente. Le esercitazioni individuali prevedono una frequenza del dottorando presso il gruppo ospitante di circa 2 settimane e la supervisione di uno o più docenti e di post-doc. Il dottorando acquisisce 6 CFU. Un gruppo di ricerca del DiSVA può proporre delle esercitazioni individuali anche dietro specifica richiesta dei dottorandi. PHD STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES – CFU BREAKDOWN

Similarly to Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes, the activity of a PhD student is based on formative credits (CFU, 1 CFU = 1 ECTS). The CFU represents a measure of the PhD student’s workload. To obtain the PhD degree, a total of 180 CFU is required. These 180 CFU are evenly distributed across the three years of the programme (60 CFU/year) and allocated to different types of activities.

The various activities are grouped into three general categories:

• Thesis workload – 120 CFU
• Attendance of courses and participation in workshops and internships organised by the University or by DISVA – 17 CFU
• Other activities – 43 CFU (writing scientific or outreach publications; research periods in Italy or abroad at universities, companies, or external institutions; support to teaching activities such as exercises, tutoring of internships and theses, seminars; participation in congresses, conferences, and workshops; participation in sampling campaigns or experiments at LSF; patenting and intellectual property protection activities; peer-reviewing for journals; editorial activities for journals or conferences; organisational activities such as purchases, maintenance, laboratory management; participation in academic bodies such as the PhD Board or the Doctoral School Council; and other related activities)

TEACHING ACTIVITIES FOR DOCTORATE STUDENTS IN LIFE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES (17 CFU)

·       7 CFU of interdisciplinary credits. 7 CFU should be obtained by:

               - Attendance to lessons common to various scientific areas organized by UNIVPM for 5 CFU. Information can be found at the following link: https://www.univpm.it/Entra/Ricerca/Dottorato_di_Ricerca_/Didattica_comune

               - Attendance to Computer Science courses for 2 CFU. 8-hour modules (1 CFU each) will be proposed by DiSVA; the student can choose 2 modules of interest. Information can be found at the link below "Lezioni di Informatica"

·       10 CFU of disciplinary credits. 10 CFU can be obtained by freely choosing a set of activities between the various options offered:

               - Attendance to specific lessons (8-hour modules, 1 CFU each) organized by DiSVA. Lectures are related to specialized subjects and will be offered by individual teachers.                - Theoretical-practical workshops on advanced instrumentation acquired as "Department of Excellence" or made available by research groups, 24-hour modules, 3 CFU each. A workshop consists of theoretical and practical sessions held by one or more teachers and post-docs, and typically lasts a week. Participation is limited to 3 or 4 students/workshop; the student can choose one or more workshops of interest. Information can be found at the link below "Laboratori Teorico-Pratici sulla Strumentazione Avanzata".

                - Individual internship in a DiSVA research lab (or in another UNIVPM Department, upon notification and adherence to the Doctoral training program), 48-hour modules, 6 CFU. The internship will allow the student to acquire interdisciplinary skills on experimental methodologies or scientific fields not present in the group to which the student belongs. For each proposal, the participation is limited to 1 student only; the student will have to attend the host group for about 2 weeks under the supervision of one or more teachers and post-docs from that lab.
